I wanted to hop on for some beauty talk! Some of my most frequently asked questions on Instagram are around my lip colors. A couple of months ago I shared a soft pink matte color I’ve been wearing and it’s still at the top of my list of favs! I wear the shade Sweet, No Sugar. I wasn’t always a fan of matte lip colors because of how drying some fo them can be, until I tried the Mac Powder Kiss Lipsticks from Ulta. I LOVE these, the formula is SO creamy and they go on so nicely. It’s the first matte lipstick that I have now bought in multiple shades!
I always love adding a bright, fun lip color to my makeup bag during the summer and I love the shade Style Shocked. It’s the perfect red orange! A bright lip is a fun way to dress up a plain white tee and jeans, or to go glam for a night out.
Here’s my secret to a smooth, soft matte lip:
Exfoliate: I have shared the Mac Lip Scrubtious with you girls in the past, and I still use it 2-3 times a week. If you haven’t tried a lip exfoliator before, I highly recommend it! This one is sugar based and it really smoothes my lips and gently removes any flakiness.
Prime: The Mac Prep + Prime Lip is a MUST for me, not just with my matte lipsticks but I use it with all of them. It gives me a little moisture before applying my lip color and helps it last so much longer!
Then I’m ready to apply my Mac Powder Kiss Lipstick (insert dancer girl emoji)!
